Snyder Park Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Springfield, Ohio.
The course was established in 1920 and it opened on July 4, 1921. It became an 18-hole course in 1922.
Indicative of the time in which it was designed, the 6,281-yard golf course has a more traditional layout that is shorter than most 18-hole courses you see today. Nevertheless, it still offers a fair challenge. The layout is mild enough for beginners but it can be tight in some spots, so accuracy is required.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,381 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,347 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 16, a par-5 that plays to 555 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 160 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, a 216 yard par-3 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 9, a 469 yard par-5.
The course was closed in 2014. The course was reportedly costing the city $350,000 a year in excess of revenue. The course was closed to save the city from continued loss.
